Untitled[edit]

On July 13, 2009, I saw this article was up for deletion because it was 'unverified'

I have no idea why, since the definition of a following sea that existed was clearly true, and is most definately common knowledge for mariners. The kind of common knowledge that is present that mariner has, or any textbook....I really don't think it needs a specific inline citation.

I added a "usage" section so that the entry would include how the phrase is used, and the fact that its origination is unknown.

Slapping that "Unsourced material may be challenged and removed" tag on articles is just a habit of rabid citationist oligarchs - people with too much time on their hands who need to feel important by leaving their, um, "mark" on the only thing that will let them. The tag is often unjustifiable and makes articles look like they're less valid than they are. Note that the tag has been doing it's damage for two years, while no one with actual sense (i.e. without Aspergers) has seen a real need for citations, nor for deletion! That tag is usually just nonsense and the people who plaster them all over in knee-jerk fashion are just dopes.

celerity = phase velocity[edit]

under word "celerity" there is a link to article about wave phase velosity. however none of the articles explains that phase velocity is actually a direct meaning of celerity. other topics are discuseed under phase velocity article, so I had to lookup the word outside of wikipedia. can this be improved?
