Infobox[edit]

In the infobox, we have fields for Opened, Closed and Years Active. The last gives the same info as the first two. Can we eliminate the repetition? Best regards, -- Ssilvers 16:19, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Title of article[edit]

I wonder if the present title is the best possible one? It seems to me that as the theatre was the Charing Cross Theatre for seven years, the Folly for five, and Toole's for fifteen, the last might be more helpful to the reader. I note that the well-known fan site Arthur Lloyd, The London Encyclopaedia, and the theatre historians Mander and Mitchenson have "Toole's Theatre" rather than "Folly Theatre" as their page/article/chapter headings. Grateful for people's thoughts on this. Tim riley talk 13:18, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I do enjoy a good folly, but I can understand if you plump for the toole... I think the latter is probably the better of the two here. - SchroCat (talk) 20:42, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
A casual review of the sources gives the impression that Toole's is the more commonly used name. It's probably not a critical change, as the alternate names should still be redirects to this one, but I think Toole's has more support in sources. Schazjmd (talk) 21:06, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Would it not also be logical as the last name the theatre had before demolition? KJP1 (talk) 06:02, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I too think Tooles would be better. I seem to remember reading about this theatre during my Frank Matcham revamp; I'll have to try and dig it out. CassiantoTalk 08:07, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks, colleagues, for those comments. I'll leave this thread open for a few days more and then, barring objections from any new contributors, I'll do the necessary. Tim riley talk 21:10, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

And now done. Tim riley talk 07:55, 16 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
