Notes by article creator[edit]

I've rated this as start class rather than tagging it as a stub because really the basics are complete: we have information about Ley's two novels instead of just "Gary Ley is a writer. {{stub}}". I've sourced everything that I can from online sources - I don't have any print sources that mention him (apart from a copy of one of his books) but he was acclaimed for his first novel so maybe there are some from 1998ish. His sculpture website says he's also a poet. He doesn't seem to have published any volumes of his own but I wonder if his poems can be found in other works. If anyone knows where, or knows of any work he may have produced since the publication of his second novel in 2002, it would be interesting to hear about. An anon inserted 2007 into the empty "year of death" field in the Persondata, but didn't add it to the article text. In the absence of any supporting evidence I'm going to assume this was just someone messing about, so I've reverted the change. I note also that one of the refenced websites looks to have been overhauled since I wrote this article but the text of Ley's bio is the same: I doubt it would have been kept if he'd died. Ley is still alive and well and living on the Gower Peninsula. The article fails to mention that he is a keen traveller. His two books refer in their settings to places he has visited in his travels. He has visited South America, and Peru especially, many times over the years. (note from friend and fellow student at UCW Aberystwyth).Notcaroline (talk) 17:06, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
