Should be merged with Sex Ratio?[edit]

Yes. "Gender imbalance" also implies a POV, since any ratio outside 50-50 would seem to be "imbalanced" when in fact the "normal" ratio of males to females at birth in human populations is ca. 105:100.

However, at maturity it is more like 50:50. As the generation ages, the proportion of females increases. Men just aren't as durable as women in the long term. Pkeets (talk) 16:10, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Gender imbalance ---> Gender inequality?[edit]

Why the redirect? They are two different things. Gender imbalance is a disparity between females and makes in a population, while gender inequality is the unequal treatment, legal status, etc. based on gender. 81.182.43.205 (talk) 21:03, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
