Edited[edit]

This should be edited to help people unfamiliar with the era and genre understand. What does Runyonesque imply? There are some other instances throughout that could be put simply and in modern language. Dreambeaver (talk) 04:22, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Damon Runyon is referenced in the article. Perhaps a link to wiktionary "Runyonesque" would help. Wastrel Way (talk) Eric

Birth name etc[edit]

All the =RS I can find have him as George Stein, except OCLC (Gershon Lichtenstein) which may derive from VIAF and hence WP?WD. I think he possibly had given names Gershon George or George Gereshon. [[1]] has George Lichtenstein.

The changes here were from an editor who had "found the immigration record".

One of the articles reproduced here says "The son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Stone of Patterson, " New Jersey...

But a story in Movie Magazine gives his account of his early days - though hard to verify.
