External links[edit]

It is not appropriate to have links to individual Local Chapters and a Local Council Locator. Those are non-encyclopedic advertising and in violation of Wikipedia guidelines. Would it be appropriate, for example, to have links to the hundreds of local chapters in the Girl Scouts article? Of course not. Therefore, these external links are being removed. If interested, our Wikipedia readers can still find the information via the groups website link, which remains in the article. Truthanado (talk) 11:56, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Issues with recent edits[edit]

The edits made earlier this summer (2013) are problematic. They took an article that had about a dozen sources and did not read like a press release, replacing it with an article taken wholly from the organization's website (which is also its only outside link), right down to the registered trademark symbol after the name, not to mention the glowing adjectives. Wikipedia is not a promotional site. --JingleJim (talk) 21:17, 26 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Have finally clawed this article back to a resemblance of an encyclopedia article. I'm sure there's more to do, but it seemed appropriate to remove the page-flags. --Piledhigheranddeeper (talk) 14:45, 18 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
