I wrote this up because it took me awhile to ID the plant, which is common on rocks in the high intertidal on the Central Coast. Henceforth it will be known to me as "beach fur" in an attempt at a mnemonic for Gloiopeltis furcata. It does look a bit like mangy fur on the rocks.... - Unfortunately, I had misidentified the photos I posted with the article. They were actually of Endocladia muricata, a very similar-looking seaweed. But a harder-to-remember name.... --Pete Tillman (talk) 22:00, 6 June 2015 (UTC)
