Still under construction?

[edit]

Cleared up some ambiguity about the casino. There were actually two hotels, one north of hwy 90 the other south of 90. The hotel south of 90 were demolished to start construction on the new Margaritaville Casino.

Unofficially work has stopped on the Margaritaville Casino. I'm looking for sources as to whether or not Harrahs is going to continue with the project or not. As of 2/7/09 their website still has a opening date in 2010

Look at these: [1] and [2]. Also, be sure that your updates are applicable to the correct article. You'll probably want to make your edits to Margaritaville Casino and Resort instead, as it would be more applicable there than here. Oh, here are two more: [3] and [4] and [5] says Meanwhile, Harrah's Entertainment, Inc., has teamed up with Buffett to develop the $700 million Margaritaville Casino & Resort in Biloxi, Mississippi, near where Buffett was raised. That project has been delayed by the downturn in the nation's economy. But Harrah's and Buffett already have a profitable relationship. SpikeJones (talk) 15:08, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

June 2011 Update: According to one of the security guards, Caesars has decided not to complete the beachside property since Jimmy Buffett pulled out of the project. It is less expensive for Caesars to purchase completed existing properties than to rebuild in Biloxi. The current casino and hotel did not undergo full renovations after Katrina because everything was supposed to be temporary. Now Caesars is left with a property that was hastily and inexpensively remodeled to salvage some revenue from the old property, and the metal framework across the street is to be torn down. Seems like such a sad example of the economic misfortunes of the Gulf Coast (recession, natural disasters, and the oil spill). Rhodesgomer (talk) 20:00, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hotel is in Horrible State

[edit]

I have stayed 2 times at this location, both times there was mold, i was treated horribly and 1st time i was there there was blood on my bed and on my pillow case when i checked in. You can walk down the hall and feel the ripples in the floor, and you can smell mold in alot of the rooms.

This Hotel needs to be investigated. Signed Debra.
