You can't say something is "the largest in Central Europe", because the concept of Central Europe is highly ambiguous. Does it include Greece? Finland? Kaliningrad Oblast? Ukraine? For most of the world, Hungary is in Eastern Europe. Let's avoid ambiguities. --Ghirla ^-трёп- 11:19, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Check the Central Europe article. It admits that it is a vague definition, but also says that Hungary is usually included in the definition. BTW Greece is Southern Europe, Finland is Northern, Kaliningrad IMO is Central, Ukraine is usually called Eastern, though it's ambiguous. I wouldn't say "for most of the world, Hungary is in Eastern Europe" b/c most of the world either doesn't care or isn't sure.

The whole thing depends on how you want to define Central Europe – if geographically, the centre of Europe is halfway between the Ural and Portugal, so the centre is somewhere in Ukraine or Belarus; if politically, then the definition is changing all the time; if culturally, then I'd say that Eastern Europe consists mostly of the predominantly Orthodox Christian states, while Hungary is mostly Roman Catholic well, mostly non-religious, but let's not get into this, historically it has been Roman Catholic.) – Alensha 寫词 15:27, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
