What has to do Steve Prefontaine with "guts"?

Gastrointenstinal Tract?

I have always heard "guts" used as a general term to refer to a body's internal organs; not necessarily specifically the gastrointestinal tract. Why is the gastrointestinal tract singled out here? Can someone explain this? -AlexFolland 20:20, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
