Untitled[edit]

Gwendolen's age is mistakenly reported in this article- the book covers her age from 20-22 I believe, the article states that she was 18 at the time of her marriage however I'm pretty sure that she was 21- at least in the book.

This article includes this quote, supposedly from George Eliot talking about Gwendolen Harleth: "It was not that she wished to damage men, it was only that she wished not to be damaged by them." However, the source for this supposed Eliot quote is a book (The End of the Novel of Love by Vivian Gornick) that itself does not provide a reference for the quote. Unless this quote can be attributed to Eliot from a verifiable source (since we can assume that Gornick did not actually hear it from Eliot's lips herself...) it should be removed from this article.140.211.112.157 (talk) 22:10, 19 January 2017 (UTC) Elizabeth B.[reply]
