Isn't there a way to access the Harmonized System Data Base freely and publicly?

Because if it is available for public access it would be good to include it as part of Wikisources, and use it precisely to "Harmonize" different categories of wikipedia as for example Chemical Products, minerals, etc. (the World Customs Organization has categorized almost every product (commodities) that can be commercialized and it has included a unique number to each one)

It would also pump visits, because it would give an advantage over the commercial counterparts that sell the information, and this will make Business people want to contribute to Wikipedia as well, including their knowledge of Industrial, Commerce and business stuff in it.

In my Country (Argentina) I can download the full National Customs database in csv format (*.csv Comma-separated values) if it is useful just Mail me or send me a message, I am working on the Chemicals Wikiproyect so I’ll be asking the same thing over there.

I'm sure there is an international base data with international trade statistics based on the harmonized system, but i can't find it. Is there someone who can halp me? In Brazil, we have the Alice system (Sistema Alice) with this kind of information.

Hi Luizabpr, There are several international databases that let you search for trade stats based on HS codes. I work with the International Trade Centre, a UN/WTO agency, and we have developed such a database called Trade Map (www.trademap.org). I am not on this project myself, but I am working on the development of a similar application for market access conditions (Market Access Map - www.macmap.org). Have a look and feel free to include this information where useful. Divoc (talk) 07:02, 8 May 2014 (UTC)

I have confused that how to get exactly HS Code from heading, sub heading, etc. Example: Relay consist of <60V or >60V and <16A. The HS Code consist of 8536.41 or 8536.49. How to differentiate sub heading .41 0r .49? Somebody would explain when sub heading 8536.41 mean <60V is stand for Automotive Relay. But some other say no. Other will explain when Relay cannot fulfilled higher than 60V or 16A then HS Code is 8536.41. Is that mean Relay more than 60V and 16A is 8536.49? Tnstech (talk) 16:23, 27 July 2016 (UTC)
