The position of HRO as the oldest symphony orchestra in the US is disputed by a number of other groups, in part because of its origins as a music society instead of an orchestra and because of the lean years where its membership consisted of a single flute player. --Myke Cuthbert 01:28, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Past President list[edit]

I removed the list of past presidents of HRO. Obviously, you can just put it right back in if you feel like it, but please ... you've got to admit that the list is just a forum to put in a plug for your friends (or, even more insidiously, yourselves, though of course I know that none of you would do that). I originally included the list (which I myself am not listed in, in case you were curious) to serve as a reference for contact information about the organization itself. While I understand that, according to normal Wiki article standards, including the past officers of an undergraduate organization might seem somewhat dubious, I assumed that, for the people who were interested in HRO, knowing the past officers would be useful for obtaining additional information about the organization due to the fact that the official website does not list such details. Apology accepted. I removed the list again, since, as we both know, it cannot possibly serve as "a reference for contact information" - a ridiculous and even laughable claim. Of course, I suppose that I shouldn't be surprised to hear such far-fetched justifications from an editor whose name is "Egocentrism04," but I think we are at least entitled to a little more creativity. Anyhow, the discussion ended with your admission that including the list would be "dubious" according to "normal Wiki article standards." Image:Pierian Sodality Logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
