this is totally a Japanese perspective of the relation, just my 2 cents

"Chinese dishes, delicacies, sweets and candies were introduced to Japan by Chinese men, who taught their Japanese girlfriends how to make them." This sentence alone brings any validity of this article into doubt. "girlfriends"? does that mean concubines, wifes, servants? in what circumstances did "chinese men teach japanese women culture"?
