The west coast of North America consists of the modern American states of California, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, and arguably Alaska and parts of the Yukon. - what about the west coast of Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama? RickK 06:18, Sep 25, 2004 (UTC)

In Canada its not uncommon for NA to only refer to Canada and the United States, that is the meaning I used here. - SimonP 06:37, Sep 25, 2004 (UTC)

Including California, but excluding Baja California is arbitrary and artificial. Also, calling British Columbia and Yukon Territory as American states is somewhat provacative, and likely to be disputed as factually inaccurate. I'm going to apply a cleanup tag on the article, to get more eyes looking at it. Gentgeen 07:34, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
