How old are these towns really?

I am a little puzzled about exactly what happened in 1907 concerning the establishment of the Huntley Project towns. Would appreciate help from Those Who Know. I've tried to hide my confusion :-) behind vagueness, e.g.: "In 1907 the new Huntley Project townsites of Worden, Ballantine, and Pompeys Pillar were laid out at intervals of about six miles along the railroad." -- Rob C (Alarob) 18:38, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

To be honest with you. I've looked at the information as well and it does seem to be a little bit confusing as well. For example, when the railroad was set up, the towns of huntley, worden, and ballantine were set up to be about 6 miles apart. but driving it today is not the case. I'll look into it and try to get some better understanding from the director of the museum and other resources.

On another note, I've added some information that is pertinent to the Huntley Project area. I hope it will be of benefit to the Huntley Project area. If it needs to be changed up a bit or rearranged, that is ok, but please don't just delete information if it doesn't jive with what you might think. Alarob, The www.huntleyproject.netwebsite includes all the towns in the huntley project area with information specific to that geographical area. The website provides resources, pictures, and history that is nowhere else on the internet. In fact, some of the pictures for example here were supplied by the HP Irr. District and there are a lot more to come when the history portin is launched very soon. There will be more information and pics supplied on this website than any other website out there for history of the Huntley Project and all the towns within that is correct. As I have lived here almost all my life, I have contacted a few people from the area to try to put together something of value for you. It will take a little time. This website includes weekly news, future events and continues to be a better source for the masses especially the local folks. There has been a lot of collaboration with the local museum, news sources, school and businesses in the area trying to have a source online that is of benefit to the masses as well. I would like to invite you to insert the "outside link" whereever you feel it would be of best use. Whether it's mentioning infomation about the launch date, history, or just used as a link. It doesn't matter to me but it whole heartedly deserves to be there. I welcome any other website to be linked if it has some relevence to the topic or area. Neutrality of huntleyproject.net

Vadcm, do you run the outside site huntleyproject.net? If you do, I don't think it's fitting with Wikipedia's neutrality policies and ban on original research for you to post history or other facts from that site. Moreover, information like the contents of the site and its launch date have no bearing on this article.

I am not against linking to the site as an external link, but any such link should point directly to the "history" page of huntleyproject.net. Unfortunately, at this time, the history page of that site is underdeveloped and would add little to this Wikipedia article. Until the history page is more developed, I don't see a place for any links to it here.

Also, I'm not against citing facts published on huntleyproject.net, but there are few of them to be found so far that have much bearing on this article. Besides, as the owner of the site, it would be a conflict of interest/neutrality for you to link to that material. You would have to wait for someone else to link to it.

(If you feel that information strictly about huntleyproject.net is important for people to know, you should start a Wikipedia article just for the site -- though, as site site's owner, that would also raise neutrality issues.) Superjaberwocky (talk) 18:39, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

I've removed huntleyproject.net from the external links/references. People looking for local websites will find them via Google. See WP:NOT#LINK, WP:NOT#DIR. Sorry to repeat myself, but listing huntleyproject.net in Wikipedia articles will not improve the site's Google PageRank.
