I'm a insured Pennsylvania painting contractor.
What by law, must my proposal and acceptance contain in order to be legitimate so that if a customer decides not to pay me......the signed agreement will hold up in small claims court.
Contracts that become illegal[edit]
Conspicuous by its absence from the article is discussion of contracts that are legislated into illegality between their acceptance and performance, such as a contract to deliver liquor that came into existence immediately prior to the enactment of the Volstead Act. --Damian Yerrick (talk) 16:52, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
- Most likely because of the complexity of the issue. The public policy exception to enforceability of contracts is hard enough as is without the additional variable of the public policy changing between contract execution and performance. It would take about 15 hours of good legal research to write a coherent and well-supported analysis and the few attorneys capable of competently tackling such a difficult issue have time or energy to do that work for free for Wikipedia. Notice how it took eight years just to bring the far more important article on Law of the United States to a reasonably coherent state. --Coolcaesar (talk) 20:33, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
