Canadian Refugee Policy[edit]

Don't know what to make of this article: Canadian Refugee Policy. Not a bad article topic in theory, but the author seems to have a major bee in his bonnet. Deet (talk) 19:15, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I believe the article should be renamed. It's not really about Canadian Refugee Policy. It is in fact a sourced article on a particular "urban legend" (although it's as much a rural legend it seems) about whether immigrants benefit more than Canadian pensioners. The title should reflect that, and there is a category for urban legends to which, I suggest, it be added. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 19:35, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest Canadian immigrant benefits urban legend as an article title. What do people think? Shawn in Montreal (talk) 19:43, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good to me. --Padraic 19:45, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think that the money spent on immigrants is made of different sums. You must include all bills here: travel costs, administration cost (Immigration Office, Health authority, police and other official procedures) etc. So, the money spent on immigrants (especially the illegal ones that are transported back to their country on the expense of expelling countries) is not small at all. --Mazarin07 (talk) 09:41, 1 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Plus ca change[edit]

I hate to tell you, but ....

Urban myths that migrant get more benefits than locals/free housing etc, have been circulating in UK since the late '50s ... WP:OR, perhaps, but true. Pincrete (talk) 15:24, 14 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
