notability[edit]

This is a news blurb, not a biographical article. While the FIDE decision may be notable, Ms. Osmak is not. -- 184.187.178.32 (talk) 17:15, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Re notability: She won the 2017 Ukrainian Women's Championship, and until this withdrawal of her new title for unspecified reasons, she won the women's rapid tournament of the FIDE World University Online Chess Championship. Three days later she was stripped of her wins, and hence her title; 20 other players in this very large tournament were also post-facto disqualified.
She is notable for these two championships, and for the controversy around the second one. For details, see FIDE World University Championship Participants Disqualified Without 'Proof Of Actual Cheating', from Chess.com. Larry Koenigsberg (talk) 23:20, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The problem ist not her notability. It is quite clear to me that she is notable:
  • Ukrainian Women Championship 2017
  • Member of the winning team of the Georgian team championship 2015
  • Does not only hold the title WGM, but is an IM as well
  • In March 2020 she ranked 33d in the FIDE women's elo list
So the problem is rather the low quality of this article on en.wp (compare that to de.wp please) --Gereon K. (talk) 22:54, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
