REDZONE VERSION![edit]

In 1998, a version was released by an artist under the alias "redzone". I recall (although my memory is hazy) the video clip featured strobes and a 'rave-like' atmosphere. Since there was simultaneous release of both versions (i think), I believe 'redzone' should get a mention in this article.

does anyone have any additional information regarding the connection between 'jackie' and 'redzone', and a seeming link between 'redzone' and 'bluezone'? 203.164.56.43 12:42, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

yes, me again six months later. Maybe the version under the 'redzone' alias could be a club (redzone) mix? please can someone verify? 203.164.55.205 22:04, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Joanne BZ - Jackie.jpg[edit]

Image:Joanne BZ - Jackie.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:59, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Elisa Fiorillo original version[edit]

Blue Zone were not the originators of this song. It was originally recorded by Elisa Fiorillo in 1987 for the soundtrack to the film "Summer School" and produced by the writers Steinberg & Kelly. Blue Zone's 1988 version was a fairly faithful cover of this original. Just thought it should be mentioned somewhere! Jackie (Elisa Fiorillo song)Jackie (Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly song) – The original version by Elisa Fiorillo neither was successful nor did chart nor was released as a single. Should use songwriters' names instead if no one minds the length of the proposed title. Alternatively, Jackie (Blue Zone song) can be used, but the version also was less successful than later versions in Australasia. • Oppose per WP:SONGDAB:"Use the name of the performer who first performed the song." This can sometimes lead to a title that is a bit surprising (see for example 1985 (SR-71 song)), but that's the policy guideline. 162 etc. (talk) 17:36, 22 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It's a guideline, not policy, and as a guideline, an exception and common sense can be used. How about either "(Summer School song)" or "(1987 song)"? --George Ho (talk) 18:26, 22 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Updated my response above. My opposition to the move is unchanged. 162 etc. (talk) 18:31, 22 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Taking into account that Jackie (Jacques Brel song) is the alternative title of Jacky (Jacques Brel song) and redirects to it, I see no option other to continue support per nomination. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 21:23, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
