Kent State Synthesis[edit]

I am not going to revert at this time to avoid an edit war. However, I would appreciate another editor looking at the source documents and seeing if the connection made is correct. Slywriter (talk) 04:13, 2 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Slywriter,I just read through the article "UA Students Are Praised". It's all technically correct. There was unrest on UA's campus after the Kent State shooting and the administration negotiated with the students. There's one mention of Zeigler in that article which verified him making a proposal that the administration doesn't adopt. And neither he nor anyone else specifically singled out for any praise. It's a one-off passing mention of him in an article that does not appear to be important enough to belong in this article. – Muboshgu (talk) 05:04, 2 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The proposal was adopted. My mother was a senior and remembers not having to take the finals, except for one. Which was optional but she took it to try and bump up her grade. However, I've included specific citations with regards to that issue. And Zeigler was quoted on both the front and second pages of The Tuscaloosa News, so it was an extensive quote. Not merely a one off passing. I'll try to find my sources from the time period, but The Tuscaloosa News archives don't have good search engines that far back, so I have to read through the newspapers one by one. All the best. I tried adfing even more citations and they were removed, what gives? I do have my masters in library science and newspaper citations of the time period are generally valid. Belledoll (talk) 19:38, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Belledoll, what your mother "remembers" doesn't fit WP:V. The source only says Zeigler requested it, not that it was implemented. We went over this before in January. – Muboshgu (talk) 20:32, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Did you read the additional citations? They emphasize they held a petition drive and the president implemented it. Belledoll (talk) 02:34, 18 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

And before you belittle my mother's memory, I interviewed the Tuscaloosa regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution and she recalls that semester clearly. As it was the only one in which she made all A's and the young men on campus were trying to go to Canada to escape Vietnam. Belledoll (talk) 03:29, 18 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Belledoll, you added the same citation we talked about in January, and this, which doesn't mention Zeigler at all. And I'm not "belittling you mother's memory". Memory is unreliable and not a valid source for Wikipedia. – Muboshgu (talk) 20:56, 21 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I added these three citations. If you read through them you will see that I'm not relying upon my mother's memory, but valid historical newspaper accounts. And, what is significant, is this is the city newspaper, not the campus newspaper. But the event was imporyant enough to receive front page coverage. Belledoll (talk) 02:02, 22 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Is it really necessary to drag me through the mud like this? Years ago wikipedia asked me to be contributor and at that time I was busy as an Amazon vine reviewer, so I declined. And this continual back and forth over verifiable historical fact is far from encouraging. Belledoll (talk) 02:08, 22 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Latest citations.[edit]

I'm puzzled, why were my additional valid citations removed? They were from newspaper accounts of the time period. Belledoll (talk) 19:37, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
