Justification for non-deletion[edit]

@Randykitty: I went through WP:NJournals and will positively work towards improving references. The three major criteria listed in WP:NJournals.

  • C1 states that the journal must be considered by reliable sources to be influential in its area. The JCLA is one of the very few journals dedicated to its subject in India. A veritable number of the most esteemed scholars in the field of aesthetics and philosophy have been involved as authors or editors in it. Moreover, it has been referred to in other prestigious journals like the BJA. However, I will work towards finding more references to improve this aspect.
  • C2 :
    • (2a) is not satisfied if we look at mentions in media because the subject is a very niche subject in India itself, and academic journals generally do not have that kind of coverage. I will supplement the article with several mentions in international newspapers to address this point; I need some time to locate the relevant sources from a nearby library and reference accordingly.
    • (2b) is satisfied reasonably for a number of reputed scholars have referred to the JCLA in their books. Will look through Google Scholar to satisfy this point further.
    • (2c) is certainly satisfied by the WorldCat link and the presence of the journal in several libraries worldwide.
  • C3 :
    • (3a) While age is not a consideration, I would mention that being one of the first journals on the subject in India has certain historical importance. Historical importance is also because of the journal's extensive discussion of cross-comparative aesthetic studies, especially with respect to the Indian context.

  • I'm sorry, but none of that really contributes to notability. You can remove the PROD tag if you want, but in that case I'll take the article to WP:AfD. Thanks. --Randykitty (talk) 13:39, 2 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • Not removing the tag for now. Rather will try to improve the article for the next week. -Prateek Pattanaik (talk) 14:04, 2 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
