I note you have tagged my kilbride page for speedy deletion. Kilbride is a village and population centre in County Wicklow, Ireland. It is included, with a dead link under the general list of towns and villages for County Wicklow - suggesting other Wiki editors had previously accepted a separate page was required.

A number of other villages in County Kildare and Wicklow of comparable size and importance have their own Wikipedia page for instance: Kilteel (Co. Kildare) Lacken (Co. Wicklow) Donard, (Co. Wicklow) Grangecon (Co. Wicklow) Poulaphoca (Co. Wicklow) Greenan (Co. Wicklow) Woodenbridge, Co. Wicklow

If there are clear criteria defining what size a population centre must be before meriting a separate page I would be happy to examine them. There doesn't appear to be a clear section within these articles setting out specific general criteria defining their importance? Ireland is a small country with a relatively low density of settlement and - until recently - few very large towns. In this context small villages - such as Kilbride - with a long history of settlement, assume far greater significance.

The village is included and described in most well-known gazetteers of Ireland, including, Lewis's Topographical Dictionary of 1837:

I am happy to accept constructive criticism. The existing features of the village and area need to be more fully described - population, infrastructure, proximity to roads (are there guidelines on these issues). If the historical description is too long - and there are clear guidelines on these issues - I am happy to apply them, though one of my main aims in setting up a page was to draw attention to the history and archaeology of the area, which are, I feel, underappreciated. I feel if a town or village merits an entry then relevant local history should be included - similar to Lewis's gazetteer above. It seems strange that a modern encyclopedia should have far less detail on local topography than one written in 1837.

Finally, clearly Astrochemist is an experienced Wikipedia editor, but his background and interest seems to beunrelated to the local geography, history and toponomy of Ireland. I may be wrong. But if that is the case perhaps it would be appropriate for a Wiki editor who specialises in this area to make a call. It is faintly galling to put considerable time into providing quite exact detail on an historic settlement of some significance and have someone simply tag it for deletion without a clear explanation.
