Removal of another section

2. There are no "feelings" involved here.

Chill man. That wasn't me who put that section back, although I feel that the section DOES indeed need to be mentioned. Identifying the personal wealth of a political leader is not only NOT inappropriate, it is important for the citizens who are to be led by the man to know his own leader. (You'll notice in my contributions that I'm neither for nor against LTP.) Serouj (talk) 21:20, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Personal Wealth of LTP

The following section has been removed from the main article on ground of OR. As soon as the relevant sources are found, it should be replaced:

(Section Title: "Personal Wealth") In addition to a government pension that amounts to about $5,000 USD a month and a large mansion overlooking Yerevan, Ter Petrossian's wealth is estimated to be several hundred million USD. With his sale of Armentel in the 1990s, Ter Petrossian received a profit of about $200 million USD. Through several front men (such as "Grzo" who owns the SIL Group) Ter Petrossian continues to own much private equity and control over businesses and real estate in Armenia. • Levon Ter-Petrossian → Levon Ter-Petrosyan. Three reasons for that:
  1. Accordingly with Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Armenian), his name must be transcribed by Levon Ter-Petrosyan;
  2. Levon Ter-Petrosyan is the English transcription, while Levon Ter-Petrossian is the French one;
  3. Levon Ter-Petrosyan is far more usual than Levon Ter-Petrossian (and Levon Ter-Petrosian with one s). Švitrigaila (talk)

  William Saroyan has nothing to do with this discussion. He's American an has an American name written with the Latin Alphabet. Ter-Petrosyan is not and his name is written with the Armenian alphabet. Ter-Petrosyan, Ter-Petrossian, Ter-Petrosian are transcriptions from different systems, but no system is neither more official nor more actual than another. • The [BBC] appears to prefer Petrosian.

House arrest and clashes

517design, please avoid edit-warring and instead address issues here:

1. We have a reliable source (RFE/RL) saying that Ter Petrossian was placed under house arrest on March 1. See here.
2. There were 2 shops which were looted: the shoe store and the grocery store. The reference you provide does not say that "about 20 shops were burned." That's impossible, because there are no 20 shops there. Here is a reliable source (ArmeniaNow) that corroborates that ONLY two stores were looted.
