Untitled[edit]

Merton Sisneros is a well known artist in New Mexico, has won several awards (one linked on page) for workmanship and was also a controversial member of the Palace of the Governors portal in Santa Fe (see here). They are some of the very few remaining Santa Clara Pueblo potters who maintain traditional techniques for creating the unique black on black pottery.

Also, they are among the artists featured in Gregory Schaaf's book Pueblo Indian Pottery: 750 Artist Biographies
