Maurice Lindley[edit]

I didn't want to add it in case I have my facts/dates wrong, but I believe Maurice Lindley served a couple of spells as caretaker manager, and has been left off this otherwise complete list. The dates, though I'm not 100% sure, are 1974 (after Revie), 1974 (after Clough), 1978 (after Armfield), 1978 (after Stein), and 1980 (after Merrington, though I'm particularly doubtful about this one). Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.121.233.116 (talk) 23:25, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dates in Managers Table[edit]

The current date formats do no follow the guidelines as laid out in WP:STYLE#Dates. The sort links may work on year but they do not work correctly because a month is included ie, 2006-Oct gets put before 2006-Sep. If you want the sorting to work the months need to be removed or the dates should comply with WP:STYLE#Dates. -- JD554 06:52, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Success rate[edit]

An explanation of success rate needs to be given. According to the edit summaries it is a percentage of points gained per points available. However, this doesn't legislate for cup games, and secondly doesn't take into account the fact it was only two points for a win until the 1980s. Peanut4 (talk) 02:08, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

-- Agree, why not just have 'win %' as 99% of all other managerial tables have? (anon)

I'm going to replace success rate with 'points per game' - since that seems like it's easier to distinguish from winning percentage. I'll allow for 2 points for a win pre-1981, but drawing out league and cup games might take longer. Meesher (talk) 17:53, 30 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Update: I've put in the 'points per game' calculated on league matches only. Meesher (talk) 10:18, 11 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
