She should be mentioned in the Maine wikipedia page as a Maine writer. Her The Peninsula is an amazing, though dated, description of life in a small coastal lobstering village. An interesting book-length biography of LDR is: "She Took to the Woods" by Alice Arlen, Down East Books, 2000.
