Nobel Peace Prize[edit]

She did not actually win the Nobel Peace Prize, it was awarded to IPCC (official source) when she was a member. That is why she is sometimes referred to as a winner, but is it wrong. The article needs to be clear about this fact. ― Hebsen (talk) 11:13, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for brining this up; according to the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize; it was stated that “In a statement of 29 October 2012 the IPCC clarified that the "prize was awarded to the IPCC as an organisation, and not to any individual involved with the IPCC. Thus it is incorrect to refer to any IPCC official, or scientist who worked on IPCC reports, as a Nobel laureate or Nobel Prize winner. It would be correct to describe a scientist who was involved with AR4 or earlier IPCC reports in this way: 'X contributed to the reports of the IPCC, which was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007.'" It stated that it had not sent the certificates to "contributing authors, expert reviewers and focal points." Kaizenify (talk) 11:22, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
