Poor[edit]

Considering she is the 3rd oldest VERIFIED person, this article is very barren. There's no infobox, let alone a photo. Jeanne Calment, Sarah Knauss and Marie-Louise Meilleur, among others, all have these infoboxes plus photos. I'd do it myself, but I'm not too familiar with the markup. 60.50.142.164 (talk) 09:59, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not that much is known about her. She was never the world's oldest person (Calment was older), and she was only verified long after her death. I don't think there is a photo available to add. SiameseTurtle (talk) 13:53, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No picture? How about here?-[1] It's her, or at least I think. 60.50.136.82 (talk) 04:26, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Nope: [2] SiameseTurtle (talk) 09:20, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The statement that her slave parents were whipped every day needs verification. It is also extremely unlikely to be true - slaves were extremely valuable items and this type of treatment would have reduced the work that they were able to do and hence their sale value. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.44.50.181 (talk) 10:20, 1 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

After several months of this contentious statement being unverified, it is probably best to go ahead and remove it.

In the absence of real information on this person, some Wikipedes manufactured a pseudo-historical biography that is not based on reliable sources. Should a family member have information on this case, they should go to a news source to do a story.69.15.219.71 (talk) 18:26, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Finally removed, but I think the article needs attention from an expert, someone who can dig up some hard facts about her. She is the third oldest verified person ever, that deserves more than a pseudography with no picture. Silenceisgod (talk) 23:41, 29 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Lucy's death[edit]

Lucy died of pneumonia in her sleep. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.8.80.139 (talk) 19:40, 28 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You need to include a reliable source for verification. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 19:45, 28 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Second person recorded to reach 115[edit]

The statement "Lucy might have been only the second person in human history to make 115, 116 and 117" does not hold with 115 since the verification of Augusta Holtz

Why?[edit]

Why does Lucy Hannah's article stay, when 1a) we don't know anything about her, 1b) the article is a WP:Permastub and WP:NOPAGE, 2) some better-known supercentenarians' articles have been merged or deleted, and 3) she is disputed? And despite being disputed, why are we still considering her to be 117 no questions asked? 121.220.58.25 (talk) 21:29, 9 April 2017 (UTC) The edit of this IP user is not a beginner user definitely, then this IP user is very likely to be a injusticely sock puppet of other account user.Inception2010 (talk) 11:35, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

See the large "This page was nominated for deletion." box at this top of this very talkpage for links to the three previous deletion discussions and their outcomes. DMacks (talk) 21:41, 9 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Those discussions don't address any of my points. 121.220.58.25 (talk) 21:48, 9 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
But they are the reason this page exists: people have nominated it for deletion, and those discussions have not led to a consensus to delete it. If you have a new reason, you could start a new discussion and maybe others will agree and those who disagree will not have a stronger argument than you do. But WP:BIO notability is not really related to the concerns you have and there are indeed WP:RS cites in the article to meet the WP:V policy for "what we know". Doubt about her age[edit]

Looking at several groups or web pages, e.g. those ones:

http://gerontology.wikia.com/wiki/Lucy_Hannah https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/the110club/what-was-lucy-hannah-39-s-actual-age-t16664.html

Lucy Hannah's age of 117 is very disputed. I am very unsure whether Lucy Hannah should be included in this list "List of the verified oldest people" - I think she rather matches the doubt section.

Lucy hanna was 97 when she died. The GRG has been propping up this phony case for way to long. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:805:4201:2640:D50C:E46C:B90C:AF10 (talk) 11:19, 22 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
