Difference from EBOM[edit]

Honestly, I can't get past the first paragraph(s) there either. What I want/need to know is the following:

Given an assembly A, containing one each of part B and part C, how would the EBOM differ from the MBOM? Does the MBOM not show assembly A, also containing part B and C?

This is the crux of the issue. If it does, I don't see any difference. That is, the difference seems to be procedural ("as designed" versus "as built"), not organizational. If there is an organizational difference, what is it? What is is the *value* in having a difference? That is, why doesn't manufacturing just use the EBOM?
