Expansion options

The article can be expanded in several directions including a section about the modern opinion of marching fire, whether marching fire is taught by any country's military today.

There could be a paragraph about the Korean War, including the 1950 Battle of Chosin Reservoir in which Kurt Chew-Een Lee ordered his Marines to use marching fire.[1]

There could be a paragraph about WWI's Battle of Belleau Wood in which USMC troops advanced under terrible German defensive fire, using the marching fire tactic but enduring very high casualties.[2]

Paragraphs could be added about assault tactics developed by various units using the Tommy gun, the Owen gun, the Bren gun, the M3 grease gun, and similar limited range high rate-of-fire weapons. Binksternet (talk) 09:58, 4 December 2011 (UTC)
