Redirect status[edit]

User:UKPhoenix79, I notice you've now re-instantiated this article from its redirect status twice now. The reason the article had been converted to a redirect was because the song (or at the very least, the article) didn't meet the criteria for notability, which are listed here: WP:MUSIC#Albums and songs. This is quite a common result for articles about album songs which aren't singles; see the other articles for Siamese Dream or Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness songs, for instance.

There are many songs that have never been released as a single but have made good articles and are a cult fave with fans Yesterday (song), Tequila Sunrise (song), Eight Days a Week (song), Aneurysm (song), Desperado (song), Dumb (song), Gimme Shelter, Better Man, Stairway to Heaven, etc... This article at the moment may need some work but it is a famous song that still gets airtime and by having this article it encourages the fans to edit and source the information. -- UKPhoenix79 (talk) 10:53, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mashed Potatoes info is wrong[edit]

This sentence is incorrect:

"Before being officially released on Siamese Dream, an acoustic mix (labeled as an outtake) of the Siamese Dream recording was featured on the Mashed Potatoes box set given to friends in 1993-1994."

The Mashed Potatoes box set contains a live track from December 13th, 1993. Siamese Dream was released on July 27 1993, so the box set was given to friends after the album was released, not before.
