Proposed edits, from the subject of the article[edit]

I'm the subject of the Wikipedia article, "Merle Hazard." I am not disputing anything in the article, but I have a couple of things to add that I think would be an improvement. As the subject, I am not supposed to edit it myself, and have not done so. But maybe other editors will agree and take these up. (Btw, I've never edited Wikipedia before, so forgive my inexperience, if I'm missing something here in what I'm suggesting.) Here are the two edits I suggest for others. First, could you link to the list of alumni of The Harvard Lampoon? The article explains that I wrote for The Harvard Lampoon when I was in college ("I" being my legal name, Jonathan Shayne...Merle Hazard is the name I adopt when singing satirical country songs). That is accurate, about the Lampoon in college. But could someone link the Merle Hazard entry into the separate article titled "List of The Harvard Lampoon Members"? That would take the Merle Hazard page out of orphan status, plus, it's accurate. I think it would help the Merle Hazard article, at least, to have that link, and it would make the Lampoon's alum page more complete. Second, what is the best way to add a photo to the Merle Hazard article, if that's appropriate? There are some online already at https://www.merlehazard.com/Photo-Gallery.html, which are free to use for any good-fair purpose (like Wikipedia) as the MH site explains. I have full-resolution versions I can send in if that would help, but I don't know where to send or upload those. Again, I am a newbie at Wikipedia, so, forgive anything I'm misunderstanding. Hi Jon/Merle! Welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for the thoughtful suggestions. I wrote much of this article and I appreciated your kind words :) I've linked you in the List of The Harvard Lampoon members and removed the orphan tag. Thanks for the tip. As for the photos, I suggest adding a Creative Commons license to your website to specify the use that you'd like. Better yet, you can upload high-res images to Wikimedia Commons using the Upload Wizard! Please don't hesitate to reach out with Wikipedia questions. It takes a bit to get oriented but once you've got the ropes, it can be a lot of fun. Crunchydillpickle (talk) 20:44, 23 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks so much, Crunchydillpickle! For writing the article, which is well done and a lot of fun to see, your kind reply to my post here, and the wiki-couragement. I should have time within the next week to upload a photo to Wikimedia. I'll post a message back here once I do. Gelled Thoughts (talk) 04:03, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've uploaded a Merle Hazard photo to Wikimedia for @Crunchydillpickle or anyone else who might like to add it to the article.

Thanks to those who have taken an interest in Merle and have put this fun article together. It's helpful, not to mention flattering, to have the story laid out in a coherent way like this. I appreciate it. Gelled Thoughts (talk) 04:11, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
