Of Slavic origin[edit]

I changed that "of Slavic origin" back because in my opinion the villagenames were mostly in Hungarian and the Slovak names came later. Hope you don´t mind. --Norababa 19:05, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This was OR and an invalid assumtion (see e.g works of Branislav Varsik or Ferdinand Ulicny, Slovak names did not came “later”). The name Miglec (Milgost) is clearly of Slavic origin and there are several similar place names in Slovakia, but also in the Czech Republic. The name is surely very old, because it was adopted by non-Slavs with /g/ and not with /h/ (this change occured in Slovak already in the 12th century).
