Centenary

[edit]

Murtoa's centenary was held in 1972. A parade through the township ended in a large celebration at the recreation reserve. The parade included local schools, Girl Guides, Scouts, Firebrigade, local bands, sports groups and a large money box entered by the staff of the local State Savings Bank of Victoria (as it was known then - becoming afterwards the State Savings Bank before being taken over by the Commonwealth Bank). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kwols (talkcontribs) 20:37, 30 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
