Ethiopian Name[edit]

The name of this author, Nega Mezlekia, follows the Ethiopian pattern, given name followed by patronymic. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ethomsen (talkcontribs) 02:11, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It isn't "common knowledge" that Ethiopian names work that way, so it requires upfront explanation to diverge from what a reader would reasonably expect. For example, we have {{Icelandic name}} to go at the top of any Icelandic biographical article that's referring to people by first name, precisely because it requires explanation. Such a thing also has to be present here if we're going to do anything different than what any reasonable user would expect. Bearcat (talk) 06:17, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Anne Stone[edit]

I have removed the following section per WP:LIVING policy:

However, it later became controversial when writer and editor Anne Stone alleged that she had ghostwritten most of the book.

The statement may be true, but it is unreferenced, and further I have some reason to believe (but no independet verification) that the claim may have been subsequently retrracted after legal action. It would certainly be permissable for the whole affair to be recorded in this article, if anyone wishes to research it and provide a ballanced account with appropriate references.--Doc 13:17, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The statement and its controversy are both very germane to why the book and the author are famous in the first place; you'll kindly note the very real difference in meaning between "alleged" (the word that's there) and "revealed" (the word that would constitute a real violation of WP:LIVING). I simply don't see how the sentence actually presents a problem as written, but I'll see what, if anything, I can do about improving it nonetheless. Bearcat 06:19, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

some update +source needed?[edit]

this sentence needs reviewing: He has still never returned to Ethiopia.

this sentence needs a source + date (or reviewing to present time): Although he still is a practicing engineer he indicates that he misses that sense of myth and spirituality from his youth. Mungosas (talk) 12:11, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
