The right Thackeray?[edit]

In the article, Briercliffe is credited as performing in a play by William Thackeray, which is linked to William Makepeace Thackeray. Is that the right playwright? The article on W. M. Thackeray does not mention that he ever wrote any plays. Marc Shepherd 20:35, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Clarified in current draft of article: the piece in question was a light-operatic adaptation of Thackeray's book The Rose and the Ring according to contemporary press reviews. - Tim riley (talk) 18:29, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
