The 93rd Regiment of foot mentioned is NOT the Sutherland Highlanders, the regiment raised in 1799. An earlier editor indicated it is the regiment raised in 1793, for which there is no Wikipedia article. This seems the most likely because he is not mentioned in the article about the regiment raised in 1780, and the regiment raised in 1760 would be too early. Nevertheless, it would be nice to confirm the identity of the regiment but I have so far not turned up a regimental history or a biography of General Balfour.
