Can people from Oecussi-Ambeno travel to other districts of East Timor without having to go through a foreign country? — JIP | Talk 16:43, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Only by sea. By land they would have to travel through Indonesia. 143.252.80.110 16:14, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What is Indonesia's treatment of Oecussi-Ambeno like in comparison to say interwar Poland's treatment of East Prussia? PMA 08:25, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There are still negotiations about this between Indonesia and East Timor. --J. Patrick Fischer 07:57, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ethnic structure

[edit]

20.000 Atoni in OA? I don't think, this is correct. What is the source? Following the 2005 cencus 59,7% of the inhabitants are speaking Baikeno, an Atoni-dialect, mostly the rest said, they are speaking Atoni as mother tongue. Other East Timorese ethnics are generally in the mainland of East Timor. --J. Patrick Fischer 10:10, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

citations

[edit]

It looks good to me, but I would like some references.

If you are talking about the ethnics, here is the official table about the mother tongue. --J. Patrick Fischer 09:21, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Flag

[edit]

What is the source of the flag? AFAIK there are no district flags in Timor-Leste. Is it maybe the flag of Bruce Grenville's sultanate of Occussi-Ambeno? --J. Patrick Fischer (talk) 09:48, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speaking of the "sultanate", the WP Oecussi article should describe that strange phenomenon briefly and accurately with references, or with a pointer to relevant information online, as an explanatory note at the end of the article. For decades, the Sultanate of Occussi-Ambeno was occasionally more famous in the West than the real Oecussi itself, and people who are led to Oecussi (or misled) by the prolific Sultanate postage stamps, coins, press releases and ostensible diplomatic acts in the 1970's-1990's, should get a reliable explanation here. Possibly with cross-references to Micronations and Micropatrology, on which the "sultanate" had an influence.2600:1700:2000:E740:3508:F8C9:EFB4:AB73 (talk) 01:32, 25 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
