I agree that this page should merge with haemoglobin. It contains no information that wouldn't fit into the haemoglobin article. As the function of haemoglobin is to carry oxygen, it is not helpful to consider oxyhaemoglobin separately. Fibrosis 17:30, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am a respiratory therapist who needed a quick reference specifically to deoxyhemoglobin. I have no objection to merging what I found in wikipedia with the larger hemoglobin section as long as a search for deoxyhemoglobin conducts the user to the appropriate subsection.
