Article does not appear to be accurate[edit]

According to a news release by Corus Entertianment [1] the show is a co Production of Fuji Creative Corporation, Planet Inc, and TVbean. It also stated that FUNimation Productions Ltd, and Nelvana International Limited, licenced the show. That would indicate that they did not create the show as is claimed in the article. I also have doubts about the show being Canadian developed as the production compaines sound like they are Japanese.69.156.205.251 06:15, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Upon further review I have also found a site selling a DVD of the Japanese version of this show and states the the release was September of last year[2]. So unless Nelvana, Funimation, and Corus also created a Japanese version they are not the creators of the show. The article needs work.69.156.205.251 06:25, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Considering Changing the Stub[edit]

Since this show has been shown not to be Canadian created I am proposing that we change the stub from a canadian TV stub to a TV stub. I will wait for a peroid of time to see if there are any objections and if not I will change it. 67.71.76.57 05:40, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

re: Canadian made[edit]

Pandalian was not created by Corus / Nelvana Limited. Corus got rights in association with Funmation to "re-package" Pandalian to the North American Market.

A re-package means:

  • the show is edited for length (22 min episode is standard in north america
  • new script is written for the Engligh Language and voiced by English actors
  • new music is scored
  • new theme is written (45 seconds) instead of the Japanese 3 minute version.
  • usually sound effects are re-posted (edited). In Pandalian's case, the original Japanese Sound effects Tracks are left intact.

DVD collection[edit]

I have so far been unable to locate an English one, but we should perhaps report on the Japanese one which exists. http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/smileone-dvd/item/10212649/?s-id=borderless_recommend_item_en for example shows that the 26 episodes are divided onto 9 DVDs (this probably means that most have 3 and one has 2) and a recording time of 639 minutes means 24-25 minutes an episode, which I find strange since English ones only appear to be 22 each, making me wonder if they cut content.

It lists performers so I'll put that by the characters. Ranze (talk) 00:40, 27 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Alien pandas[edit]

Since the series takes place on a completely different planet, wouldn't that make the panda-people an alien race (I've even started calling them "Pandasians" because of it)?184.186.4.209 (talk) 22:17, 29 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
