Provide full lens description[edit]

I'd like to suggest providing full lens descriptions - not just how the current lens (i.e. FA) changed form the previous (i.e. F). Image copyright problem with File:Pentax logo.png[edit]

Articles on individual Pentax lenses[edit]

I would like to see articles on individual Pentax lenses. Most Canon EF lenses and several Nikon and Sony lenses have individual articles, but it appears that no Pentax lens has an article.

Weather resistant version of FA* 600mm?[edit]

Hello, I've put a "citation needed" next to the about the "reported" existence of a weather resistant version of the FA* 600mm. Apart from that, I noticed that the statement is written in present tense, but the lens seems to be out of production as of 2014. Instead of searching for a reference for that, I suggest to simply remove the FA* and put in the rather new DA 560mm instead. It is marked AW[1] so it should have the same improved sealing as the DA* lenses have. --El Grafo (talk) 14:42, 28 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It would be nice to see more flushing out of the 'History' section.[edit]

Over the years, I've read all sorts of tidbits on the history as well as experienced them first hand... "Pentax lens coatings are soft..." or that the K15mm was part Zeiss in design. Would like to see more about the falling out of Takumar and Asahi Optical in the late 60s to 70s. Takumars were relegated to producing bargain lenses around the 70s and 80s. Also, need to add some of the other cameras that are K-mount compatible. More details as well in the area of what Hoya brought to the Pentax name and ultimately what they left with. I am looking to locate that information I hope, but please anyone jump in. Thanks all few Pentaxians for your work here.

Pentax - Tokina collaboration.[edit]

I've already gotten rid of one of them, but there are still 2 places where Tokina#History is used as a reference for the collaboration the 2 companies had in the 2000s. Tokina#History doesn't exist anymore, due to lack of sources. And indeed reliable sources for this are more than sparse. It seems that the official story at that time was that the 2 companies "co-developed" optical designs together and everything else was up to the individual manufacturer. The truth seems to be a bit different with Tokina designing the formula for the 12-24 and Pentax designing the rest. There have been several discussions elsewhere on the web (e.g. [2], [3]), but nothing that could serve as a reliable source. So what to do with this? Found this source: [4], in which are several lens design sources are written to Pentax. In combination with the patent list for all Pentax lenses at [5], it seems most lens designs are from Pentax. --Angerdan (talk) 22:58, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
