I would like to cit. the German Wikipedia: At begin of the season 1984/85 in the World Cup he did start successful and he did win two Downhill Races at Kitzbühel but he did get an injury of meniscus. His start in the FIS Alpine Skiing World Championships, to be held three weeks later at Bormio were in jeopardy. But a new method of treatment (arthroscopie) at the " Rennbahn-Klinik "
(" Rennbahn medical center ") at Muttenz did help. In the Switzerland, there was Zurbriggen's health situation the top catchline each day, called as the " knee of the nation ". At Bormio he became a double World Champion and he did win the Silver Medal in the Giant Slalom. But in regard to the Overall World Cup, he couldn'd achieve it because his being absent after his unluck at Kitzbühel (he missed ten races). Skiscout (talk) 12:40, 11 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
World Cup Globes - and Giant Slalom World Cup[edit]
German Wikipedia counts the three wins in the Combined Event, therefore he did win 15 globes. Maybe, such an assumption is a matter of opinion. But he only did win twice the Giant Slalom WC; he was equal with points (115) with Ingemar Stenmark in the season 1983-84 but the Swede did win four races, Zurbriggen only three.
