Origin of name given twice in the article[edit]

The origin of the name "plus fours" is given twice in the article. This is repetitious. One or the other should be deleted. I'll leave it to you all to decide. Bill Jefferys 02:17, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Odd choice of photo[edit]

yes, i concur, there's no way that's only *4* inches from where his knees appear to me.

freedom of movement[edit]

The article implies that they have more freedom of movement BECAUSE they are longer than knickerbockers. That makes no sense.

Do they just happen to be LOOSER or something, and therefore allow more freedom of movement IN SPITE OF being longer? Or is that simply a typo there for "...LESS freedom of movement"?

Hyphen or no?[edit]

Is this the work of a robot?[edit]

In Vladimir Nabokov's King, Queen, Knave, "while his lover is dying of pneumonia in a nearby hospital attended by her husband (his employer and uncle), Franz busies himself arranging to buy a pair of plus fours, a long-deferred dream".[This quote needs a citation]

Why does this need a citation? It is clearly labeled as a quote from a well-known literary work, title and author given. I am removing the citation needed tag. Somebody slap my hand if I am in error, but do, please, explain why. rowley (talk) 16:04, 18 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
