Compilation or studio album?[edit]

Even though this album was "10 years in the making; one punk-carol classic released each year (sometimes two) to their PxPx Fan Club for nearly a decade has now been packaged along with one new original track" that does not make it a compilation album. This is the first time all of the songs were gathered in one release. The previous tracks were all released as singles before that and a compilation is a collection of songs previously released on other albums, sometimes with one or two new songs added in. If you can find a reliable source that clearly supports the claim that it is a compilation album, then I'll change my tune, otherwise, the one source that is present make it clear this is an album, not a compilation. Sorry I neglected the article talk page until now. I have multiple secondary sources and have added them this morning that detail how the album collects songs previously released as single. On reviewing the Wikipedia definition of a Compilation album it is detailed that "A compilation album comprises tracks, which may be previously released or unreleased, usually from several separate recordings by either one or several performers. If by one artist, then generally the tracks were not originally intended for release together as a single work,[1] but may be collected together as a greatest hits album or box set." My now added sources explain, and even the quote found in the CD liner notes show, that the band did not intend to collect their ten year history of Christmas singles together into a single album until after fan pressure to do so. This is a text book definition of a single artist compilation album, as the album was was not anticipated to exist when the individual songs were recorded.
There are many examples of this in both MxPx's own history and other artists. For example Let It Happen (MxPx album) is a collection of studio recorded songs that were not intended to be in the collection Let It Happen. Wikipedia marks this as a compilation album. Further, Let's Rock (MxPx_album) is collect of previously unrleased material. Most of the songs on Let's Rock were not even released before being collected on the album, but it to is marked as a compilation on Wikipedia.Tunnelofgloves (talk) 18:53, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Welcome to the article's talk page!
None of your sources support the claim that this is a compilation. We can discuss the other articles on their talk pages, but we just need a reviewer to call it a compilation, not just assume because all of the songs were released to a fanclub (or on a true compilation) that it's a compilation. Oh, and your argument for calling a collection of previously released works (even to a fan club) is not not without some merit, I'd just like to see a RS agree. Walter Görlitz (talk) 22:01, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
