Quality engineering is more than just a publication, it is a job function, i.e. a Quality Engineer is a professional, often with a degree in electrical, mechanical, industral, etc. engineering.

an engineering discipline[edit]

Quality Engineering is a branch of engineering. It has its own domain and body of knowledge. An organization might have a QE funciton or department that congregates those practicing this discipline. The QE journal is the publication often associated with those who practice the discipline.
