Chronologies[edit]

Regarding the chronology section of the infobox: Is it possible, as would be more precise to the nature of the work, to list two chronologies of which neither match the artist name given earlier in the infobox? As in, two chronologies, listed one under the other as the article has at present, with the following:

Erlend Øye chronology
Previous album: Legao, 2014 / This album: Quarantine At El Ganzo, 2020 / Next album: none

Sebastian Maschat chronology
Previous album: Rules [The Whitest Boy Alive album], 2009 / This album: Quarantine At El Ganzo, 2020 / Next album: none

While keeping the artist name under the album title as "Sebastian Maschat[linked] and Erlend Øye[linked]"?

I ask this because of the unusual nature of this work:

1. This is a joint work with both artists taking an equal role in the songwriting credits, which alternate between the two of them, so it is correct to list the artist name as "Sebastian Maschat[linked] and Erlend Øye[linked]".

2. This is, in a sense, a new Erlend Øye solo work, as the album is not being billed as that of a new duo act made up of Maschat and Øye but a collection of recordings written separately by each of the two. So it seems correct to list the album as a new entry in both artists' chronologies as individuals, rather than the first entry in a new "Sebastian Maschat & Erlend Øye" discography, which would be imprecise.

3. This is easily done in the case of Øye as he has put out two solo studio albums in the past, and I have linked to the previous one, "Legao", in this case.

4. Maschat has no previous solo albums, unlike Øye, and the last release I can see he was involved in as a billed artist is as a part of The Whitest Boy Alive in 2009 with their album "Rules". So ideally I would link to "Rules" as the previous album, under an additional "Sebastian Maschat" chronology. But it doesn't seem this is possible the way the infobox script is current set up?

5. Similarly, it is inaccurate to link back to "Legao" as occurring under a "Sebastian Maschat[linked] and Erlend Øye[linked]" chronology, it should just be an "Erlend Øye" chronology, but it does not seem to be possible to add multiple custom 'additional chronology' sections to the infobox, nor does it seem to be possible to make the first chronology section listed a different name to the artist given under the title, again because of the way the automatic infobox script is set up.

Does anyone know a work-around so as to display the information in the manner I've suggested at the top of this post? — Preceding unsigned comment added by AmbroseCadwell (talkcontribs) 20:15, 25 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@AmbroseCadwell: what you want is Template:Extra chronology. Richard3120 (talk) 02:28, 29 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Richard3120: Currently, the sole chronology section in the infobox is an "extra chronology" section with the artist string replaced with the text "Sebastian Maschat and Erlend Oye chronology"; because it does not seem possible to change the artist field for the default chronology section to fit the desired result (two chronology sections, in which the artist string for neither matches the artist string named higher in the infobox, to show separately the chronologies of two collaborators featured on this one-off quasi-compilation album) I deleted it and went with the current example for now. The page you link doesn't seem to contain any info that would change this (that I could see).
