Young Lieutenant Trotta knocks the Emperor down in order to prevent him from attracting sniper fire?[edit]

This is not exactly correct: The Emperor is attracting sniper fire, he is shot at, lieutenant Trotta knocks him down and ...That same instant, a shot bored through lieutenants left shoulder, the very shot meant for Kaiser's heart... (from page 2 of the novel). TomyDuby 02:59, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Name of the Book[edit]

Michael Hofmann's translation calls the book The Radetzky March. I think that is a better translation of the title in English. I also note that Kapuzinergruft is translated on this same page as The Emperor's Tomb (again, I would say correctly). Any strong views? Westmorlandia (talk) 20:05, 25 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Plot[edit]

The description of the novel's plot is most incomplete, to put it mildy. Roth's novel mainly concentrates on the third Baron Trotta and his emotional and professional struggles in life. The first and second Baron are described mainly as an introduction so that the third Baron Trotta's role can be understood. ViennaUK (talk) 20:38, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
