Hobbes Spy Predicament[edit]
If there is any information indicating that Hobbes is actually a spy in the game itself, please post it here, otherwise, do not edit the article. Ezedriel
The Wingcommander CIC website has posted video clips ripped from the 3DO version of wingcommander 3. These cutscenes were deleted from the PC version, and in particular include a "Hobbes explanation scene" that confirms that Ralgha was a sleeper agent in the original game script.
But if they were deleted, how can they be considered canon? Deletion = omition from story. I think it would be better to distinguish one as the book explanation, and one as the game explanation. I can list 100 differences from the original Star Wars scripts in their current incarnations, and that does not make them official. 68.111.219.236 11:17, 2 July 2006 (UTC)Ezedriel
The "Hobbes as programmed personality" explanation IS in the video game - just not the PC version. It was in the 3DO version. I propose we either 1) only include that explanation, or 2) a note that no version was given in the PC version (it being a response to the Behemoth/Templor Bomb plans is purely an interpretation), and then include the "Hobbes as programmed personality" explanation. Scenes that are omitted from movies are no more canon than scenes removed from game. Because in the course of playing the game the only option is a moral choice, the point still stands, if evidence in game can't be proved to counter, the article must remain.
nar italicized?[edit]
Should the nar prefix in "Ralgha nar Hhallas" really be italicized? I'm curious as to the reason for this decision, as I've not seen it done elsewhere or in canon. I seem to recall reading in a canon Kilrathi lexicon that the "nar" stands for a family prefix, as in our various versions in different languages: "of", "de", "von", "van", etc. This indicates that the character's literal name is "Lord Ralgha of the clan Hhallas". This still doesn't require the prefix to be italicized, though, as the "nar" is considered part of the name and not a stand-alone Kilrathi word that could be in italics.
Fair use rationale for Image:Hobbes2.jpg[edit]
Image:Hobbes2.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
