Cleanup

I'd like to suggest that the article be put up for cleanup. There's lots of choppy prose littered about, and the article's flow could be smoothed out in my opinion. Also, there needs to be more sourcing of certain statements, such as the last sentence of the introduction claiming Yousef was a member of al-Qaida. Whether obvious or not, it's always better to have documentation. --Impaciente 00:02, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

I agree that this article should be flagged for cleanup. There are stylistic and grammatical mistakes. Also, there is at the very least one very ambiguous line: "Adam's confessions led to a belief that he took part in the bombings. When he was convicted he believed that his brother had exposed him and made false accusations of Hassane's part in the crime." Who is "he?" It sounds like Adam is "he", but the third sentence refers to his release while the second sentence refers to his conviction. Is one or me of the "he"'s Yousef? Also, the "after the attacks" section should be renamed given Yousef participated in more than one attack. Also, I originally went to this article because I thought it was on Ahmed Yousef, the polical advisor to Hamas' prime minister. There should be a link or disambiguation page given that the Ahmed Yousef I was looking for just wrote an op-ed for the New York Times today (June 20, 2007).--Waveparticle 02:01, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Questionable Line

Quote: "After his capture, he had ranted extremist statements. His behavior afterwards suggested to U.S. officials that he was not a terrorist due to religious zeal. He expressed sympathy for the Palestinian cause. He never visited Palestine."

YOUSEF identified himself as a terrorist to the US authorities. If you have a source for this particular line please make it known, otherwise when I update this page shortly I will remove that line (except for the Palestinian reference) and replace it with the evidence I have.

Removal of Line Mentioned Above

On page 368 of '1000 Years For Revenge' by Peter Lance the following is recorded:

"The government in its summations and opening statements said that I was a terrorist," Yousef responded. "Yes I am a terrorist and I am proud of it. And I support terrorism so long as it was against the United States government and against Israel..........."

In my new update I will remove the paragraph in question and put the reference to his sympathy for the Palestinian cause elsewhere.

Book quotes

I've removed the long book quotes, which were POV and unencyclopedic, and also removed Reeve's name from the intro, as I've done on other pages. It was added by 151.202.224.102. Whoever you are, it would be appreciated if you would stop inserting his name and long quotes from him into articles, as it's starting to look like self-promotion. There is no mention of Ramzi Yousef's involvement in the bombing of Philippine Airlines Flight 434.

Seriously, i just saw a whole show about this flight and his COMLPETE involvement in the bombing. Why has nobody mentioned that in his profile? Apparently an attack on the USA is the most important thing. His name is on the page for the plane bombing, but no reference the other way. That is all.

Information about his entry into the country

The entire section about pre-WTC bombing really needs some work. It's a bit disjointed and unclear. Especially unclear is the transition from Ahmed Ajaj being caught to Yousef's detention by INS (i.e. it mentions nothing about Yousef's initial lies about being Pakistani). From the article, it seems like he just showed up, claimed asylum, and was routinely sent to INS.

Wikify tag

Contradict tag

Was the "unidentified informer" Parker (as alluded to higher up)? If so, why is he unidentified? --Storkk 18:05, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
Someone removed the Contradict tag, but I still see a blatant contradiction in:

1. identifying the informer as Parker
2. saying he's unidentified

Where exactly does it say 'unidentified informer'? The informant is identified as Parker throughout.

Maybe I somehow missed it, but I looked and looked. At any rate, shouldn't the full refernce for these be in the reference section?
